The Human Infinite Project (“we” or “us”) is a public education project based in Richardson, Texas. This page explains what information this website collects, why, and what choices you have.
The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell your information, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
What we collect
- When you read the site. Our web host, DreamHost, automatically keeps standard server records, such as your IP address, your browser type, and the pages you visited. These records keep the site running and secure.
- When you email us. Your email address and whatever you choose to write.
- When you join our email list (coming soon). Your email address and, if you give it, your first name.
- When you buy something (coming soon). Purchases are handled by Payhip. We receive your name, your email address, and what you bought. We never see your card details.
- When you join the community forum. To post, you create an account with a username, email address and password. Your username and posts are public; your email address is never shown. Posts and comments may be checked for spam by Akismet, a service run by Automattic. To delete your account, email us.
What stays on your own device
Our lessons and apps can remember your progress and settings, such as checkmarks, text size, or dark mode, using your browser’s built-in storage. That information stays on your device. It is never sent to us, and you can erase it at any time by clearing your browser’s data for this site.
Cookies
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress, the software that runs this site, sets a few small cookies only if you log in or leave a comment, so it can remember you. If we ever add visitor statistics, we’ll update this page first.
How we use your information
We use it only to answer your messages, send the emails you signed up for, deliver what you buy, and keep the site working and safe. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Services we use
A few trusted services help run this project. Each has its own privacy policy.
- DreamHost hosts the website.
- Payhip handles ebook sales (coming soon).
- Kit sends our email newsletter (coming soon).
- YouTube hosts our videos. When you play a video on this site, YouTube may collect information under Google’s privacy policy.
- Akismet (by Automattic) checks forum posts and comments for spam.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it. You can leave the email list at any time using the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of every email.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information we have about you. Just email us, and we’ll take care of it.
Children
This site is written for a general audience. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
